Wheeling Bitch Circus established in 1998 with the promise to barrage your ears with true metal goodness. By embodying the spirits of its writers through their fingertips and vocal cords, they have remained alive to tell the tale.

WBC has transformed themselves into melodic, thrashy, and straight up in-your-face metal with heart-driven lyrics and ear pleasing leads. WBC hates music that's boring, and that's why they dedicate themselves to being catchy, fun, yet serious...

but, not necessarily all at the same time... and it's been quite a journey.

Wheeling Bitch Circus was founded in 1998 by Nate DiDonato (guitar/vocals), Sean Ciccone (guitar), John Walton (bass), and Mike Carlin (drums). With the departure of John Walton and addition of Noah Fickler on second guitar, a six-song 4-track demo tape is created. Upon the entry of Allan Eustace on lead vocals they are a surefire hit with their fellow under twenty-one crowd’s local shows.

"Wheeling Bitch Circus" was released in 2000, featuring sixteen tracks. Personal and professional differences led Fickler, Ciccone, and Carlin to leave. With the entry of Andy Barndt (bass), John Rowe (drums), and Matt Grill (guitar), WBC “Mark II” was born. They quickly went to work on material for their 2002 album, "Era". With higher production quality and more consistent songwriting, the album was highly received.

Soon, Grill's dedication to the band was juxtaposed by college, and Steve Romano entered to relieve his duties. After a brief hiatus, WBC started working on material for a third album, "Fallen Angel". Although much of the material was played frequently live, the album itself would end up taking over two years to finish.

Matt Grill re-entered the lineup for a three guitar assault, right on time for the late 2006 release of "Fallen Angel". In 2007, WBC decided to tackle both ends of their musical spectrum simultaneously, by continuing their standard-tuning writing, and also re-visiting their down-tuned skills from their 2000 album. Many of these down-tuned tracks were written over four years before, right after the recording of "Era", and will not appear publicly until their fourth album. Commitment issues led Matt Grill to permanently quit WBC in late 2007.

It's been quite a journey so far. With several lineup changes (a total of eleven members since conception), shows of high-scale (opening the Louder Harder Faster Metalfest at the Crocodile Rock in Allentown) to lowest of lows (some guy's basement in south Philly in front of ten people), and just-plain strange occurrences (being booked with bands of TOTALLY DIFFERENT genres, having a fan die of alcohol poisoning at a show and getting revived by paramedics), WBC's seen a lot.

2008 marked the 10th anniversary for WBC. A new album is scheduled for release in 2010.

History:

1998: WBC starts in September with guitarist/singer/songwriter Nate DiDonato, guitarist Sean Ciccone, and drummer/percussionist Mike Carlin. They very briefly have John Walton on bass.
1999: John Walton officially leaves. Noah Fickler then enters as rhythm guitarist and Sean takes over bass. Allan Eustace, an early collaborator of Nate's, finally enters the band as singer/songwriter soon after the band releases their homebrew 4-track demo.
2000: WBC progresses further then ever with the addition of their newer, even more refined songwriting skills and instrumentality, which now includes keyboards, viola, and more. Al Landron was dubbed the "unofficial" 6th member, taking part in keyboard compositions and all album artwork.
2001: Their self-titled debut CD is released. Soonafter, Sean Ciccone and Mike Carlin leave the band. Allan Eustace and Nate DiDonato continue to work heavily on side projects and solo material. That Fall, Andy Barndt (ex Fall From Heaven, Inane, Fair Warning, Save the Rec Center, etc. etc.) enters and takes over bass duties. John Rowe enters on drums (9 members in 3 years... hoo boy!). WBC then remasters and re-releases their first full album.
2002: Matt Grill enters the band as second guitarist. Noah shortly thereafter officially leaves WBC, but remains a collaborator of Nate's. Their second album, Era, is recorded.
2003: Steve Romano enters as WBC's third guitarist. The band starts working on material for their third album.
2004: WBC begins recording "Fallen Angel", the final product is not finished for another two years. They however record a basement show "Live and Really Fucking Drunk".
2005: "Fallen Angel" tracks are finished, but the mixing goes on hold as the band goes on a six-month hiatus.
2006: Mixing of "Fallen Angel" is finished. CD is mastered, pressed, then finally released Friday, October 13th.
2007: Online-exclusive and FREE album "Live at Grape Street Philadelphia" is released. WBC starts reviving old material and ideas from the back burner for their fourth and fifth albums... Commitment issues led Matt Grill to permanently quit WBC in late 2007.
2008: WBC celebrates their 10th anniversary. Commitment issues to sister bands The Machine Stops and The Special Guests cause a slight disruption in consistent practicing and recording. However, new recording equipment, methods, and playing techniques will be incorporated into a brand new record slated for 2010.
